Key Account Manager

Digital Storage is adding a Key Account Manager position to our team located just north of Columbus, in Lewis Center, Ohio. We are a wholesale distributor of removable storage media, fast moving consumer goods, consumer electronics, and accessories. Our sales team is dedicated to helping customers and supplier grow their businesses, by offering excellent customer service, product availability and industry knowledge. We provide real-time services and customized, value-added offerings.

We are a small group with big potential and this position is vital to the success of our growing business. This position is responsible for business development and maintaining and growing relationships with existing retailers and resellers.

Responsibilities:

• Achieve sales goal by maintaining and growing existing accounts by continuously looking for opportunities to sell and promote current and new products.
• Generate new retail leads and contacts, request meetings, present and sell to/close new business.
• Proactively call and email decision makers within prospective companies.
• Respond to customer inquiries via phone and e-mail, assisting potential customers during their evaluation process to closing the sale.
• Set follow-up appointments to keep customers aware of the latest products and developments.
• Quickly report material changes that may affect our relationship with the customer, such as change of personnel, change in financial situation, competitor’s activities, etc.
• Assist in developing promotions, as well as, implementing systems to measure and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and issues in a timely manner.
• Add recommendations and insight for promotional marketing activities or additional product offerings.
• Research related industry trade shows and events that may help with branding and exposure.
• Provide status reports highlighting milestones and progress in business development process.
• Achieve new account sales goals.
• Travel will be required, generally between 20-40%.

Education/Experience/Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and/or Business Management is preferred.
• A minimum of 2-5 years sales experience in retail, promotions and/or market development experience, fast moving consumer goods, or consumer electronics.
• Experience with business development in consumer retail products is preferred.
• Self-starter with strong initiative to learn new products lines and to work without direct supervision.
• Successful in establishing long lasting relationships with new and existing customers.
• Strategic and creative thinker.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Effective communication skills for verbal and written messaging.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must have excellent computer skills, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Email.

Compensation

This position pays base compensation, plus commission. First year total compensation can range anywhere from $60-90k depending on experience and sales growth.
